It is imperative that companies get the most value and effort from their employees as possible but sometimes the working day can seem so long and drawn out that it is inevitable that some employees will look to skive off or take breaks when they can. Many people would think this is a normal part of the working day but it may be that this is detrimental to the economy. The iBingo site carried out an online survey and the results are certainly going to be of interest to bosses up and down the country. Given that the iPhone is one of the most popular smart phones available, it will dismay bosses to learn that 55% of the respondents who used an iPhone admitted spending time playing games when they should have been working.

A huge time spent playing games

With the respondents saying that they played an average of one hour each week playing games when they should have been working, this adds up to an unpleasant sum when extrapolations are put in. It is perhaps unwise to try calculations of this manner but if every iPhone user in the UK behaved in this manner, it is rumoured that 57 million working hours may be lost to the country. This would be a huge drain on resources and would probably be responsible for a large part of the problem in this country. Never mind the bankers; you will probably expect some people to be blaming the online bingo players for this problem!

In reality, it would be very wrong to solely blame this on online bingo players but there is no doubt that the plethora of smart phone apps and online sites offering bingo and other games will impact on people’s work-rate. The vast majority of workers will get on with their job as expected but some people are not as good at avoiding temptation as others. This means that some bosses will need to keep an eye out for the rogue bingo players in their office or workforce.
