Would You Play Bingo In A Fast Food Restaurant?

All businesses in the current economic climate should be looking at ways at getting more people into their venue and there are a great number of ways to carry out promotions. There is no doubt that the internet has made a big difference in the way that companies can promote themselves and seek to bring new people through their door. However, for restaurants and stores, it is very important to have good enough promotions occurring in-house that will see people turn up. There is no point in having a brilliant internet led campaign if it doesn’t bring people to the store and a good publicity campaign will always be centred on the main business.

Bingo in the morning can be fun

Many pubs have turned to bingo nights in recent years to generate income and have people coming on a regular basis and it seems as though fast food restaurants are waking up to this idea too. Americans love their food, that isn’t in doubt, but even then, many fast food restaurants are desperate to beat off the competition and provide a brilliant service to people on a regular basis. The Wendy’s chain of fast food restaurants may not be well known in the United Kingdom but they are a big deal in America and they have been using bingo to encourage people to drop in at breakfast time.

Bingo at breakfast time

The Healey based Wendy’s restaurant introduced bingo to the early morning schedule back in October 2011 and it seems as though the numbers have been picking up ever since. It just goes to show that people will respond to good promotional campaigns and if there is something to generate interest, bingo is always likely to be the answer. Some people will point to the fact that bingo is a game usually associated with senior citizens and this means that the early morning promotion may be of great interest to them. Knowing your target market and actively giving them something that they may enjoy is a crucial factor for businesses these days and the tie-in between bingo and breakfast looks to be one that works.

Many of the business ideas that begin in America eventually transfer to the UK and it will be interesting to see if any of the British fast-food outlets bring in bingo. You could easily imagine a Wetherspoons combining their pensioners special with a few games of bingo to drive even more people to their pubs so why shouldn’t fast food restaurants try the same trick?
