Bingo Pals Fall Out
Playing bingo games with your friends is a great way to have fun and it can have a very positive impact on a person’s health and life. There is no doubt that being fit and active is a great way to keep yourself going but working your brain will also help. Both of these elements come together when playing bingo and if you do so in the company of friends, it is all the better. Friends can give you the added encouragement to head out of the house and they can make the process a lot more fun.
There can be times when friends fall out when playing bingo though and this can lead to problems. Different players have different styles of play and a different focus when it comes to bingo so it may be that there are personality clashes. Also, while most bingo players are happy to see their friends bag a big winner, there will be some who are not so gracious when seeing their friends triumph. There are many reasons why people could fall out at the bingo but things don’t usually go as badly as they have done for two bingo players in Darlington.
Bingo incident leads to exclusion
In March of 2011, an incident took place in the Darlington Gala bingo hall which saw Judith Mann being excluded from the hall. Judith Mann blamed her friend, Christine Priestly, who she regularly sat beside during the bingo games for the exclusion and a court has been told she has regularly harassed her ever since. The prosecution told the court that Judith Mann has carried out a number of harassment episodes on Ms Priestly and her elderly mum in the town centre. These incidents took place in June and July of last summer and are now the focus of a court trial.
Judith Mann was found guilty of harassment without violence and was given a conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £100 in compensation. A spokesperson for the bench said; “It is an unusual case and it was a nasty case in that the victim was shouted at. It would be impossible to enforce a restraining order on Miss Mann due to her situation.”
Bingo can be a fun and exciting way to spend time with friends but if things go wrong, this is a stark reminder of just how wrong things can pan out.
