Robert Neil, a 60 year old man from Ayrshire and onetime famed player of Kilmarnock Football Club was on the receiving end of a some very good news indeed whenever he discovered that he was the one of the chosen few that were eligible for the Lottery jackpot.

During the course of the weekend, Robert had been very under the weather as he struggled to cope with a persistent chest infection that doggedly plagued him and which stubbornly refused to alleviate itself. Thinking that an early night was in order, as it would allow him to recuperate and hopefully ensure that the virus would go away in a shorter period of time, Robert was in his pyjamas and drinking a glass of milk before falling asleep.

Finishing his Bounty bar, and with no real expectation of actually winning something, Robert proceeded to turn on the television and checked the Teletext to see what the winning numbers were for the Lottery jackpot.

Initially sceptical about the fact he was perhaps on the path to a good thing, Robert’s excitement quickly mounted and so he shouted on his wife, Isobel to come through and see the results.  Even with her input, the couple were still not entirely convinced that they were indeed the lucky recipients of the Lotto jackpot and so to make sure, they contacted on their children in order to determine whether they were indeed winners or not. When their adult son confirmed their suspicions, it was only then that the couple felt comfortable enough to actually rejoice!

The next step on the agenda was to get the ball rolling with the formal prize claim procedure and so the couple made contact with the Camelot group, the organisers responsible for the logistical side of dealing with the claims for prize money. Dealing with the Camelot people provided the couple with the much needed wakeup call to allow the news to actually, finally, and mercifully, sink in. Who can blame them?

The couple, excited as they are with their winnings, are adopting a cautious approach as to what they will be spending it on and specifically, they will be reserving any sort of final judgement/determination until after their holiday in Turkey which is due to take place later on in the year.

Robert has also made reference to his intention to make use of the prize money to watch more football games.
