For most of us, winning a Lottery jackpot and becoming a millionaire is itself, sufficient in of itself to allow us to give up on any sort of semblance of hard work and instead, ensure that we can sit back and enjoy a life of total decadent opulence and enjoyment. Indeed, there are plenty of stories and reports of lottery winners simply taking early retirement. After all, with that level of cash behind them, why on earth would they want to work?
For Wayne Hughes however, he intends to make use of his cash in a practical, directly useful manner and so he intends to make use of it to finance his ambitions of attending university and acquiring a degree in Information Technology. One can only marvel and applaud Wayne for his diligence and his enthusiasm for higher learning, not to mention personal development.
One interesting fact about Wayne’s victory that makes it all the sweeter and endearing is the fact that Wayne has always chosen his numbers by using dates which have some special significance to him, and specifically, birthdays of those closest to him. It seems that his love for his friends and family has paid off, for it was these numbers that netted him £1,117,779.
Although the Lottery numbers were read out on the Saturday, it was not until a couple of days later that he actually found out that he was one of the lucky few who had managed to earn themselves the prize on offer. It was only when his mother had checked the numbers and verified for herself that he was indeed a winner, and the phoned him at home to inform him of the good news that the revelation actually sunk in.
Exercising extreme caution so as to protect his ticket from theft, damage and loss of any sort, Wayne then waited until morning before contacting the Camelot people after a very unpleasant evening of tossing and turning as he could not settle because of his extreme excitement.
Obviously, Wayne will indulge himself a little and so he intends to purchase the standard fare such as a new home and a dream car. His family will also be on the receiving end of the riches as well as he fully intends to treat them all. However, he is also eager to actually accomplish something meaningful with his life, hence his ambitions to attend university.
