Labouchere Card Counting System

The Labouchere Card Counting System has proven itself to be incredibly popular among blackjack players and although it is referred to with a variety of different monikers and titles, the simple truth of this: it is a very effective, cost efficient and reliable source of betting.

Forget the different names associated with the system, the most crucial thing that the player has to fully be intimate with is that this is a progressive system which will make its progress in a negative manner. Unfortunately, to further add confusion to the mix is the fact that this system can be used and implemented in a number of different methods, and we will now give consideration to the most basic of these methods as follows.

In the first instance, the player will need to ensure that they jot down a sequence of numbers onto a piece of paper. There are no rules concerning what numbers should be used, indeed, they can be entirely at random. Furthermore, there is no requirement that there is any sort of pattern to them, be it Fibonacci based or otherwise.

For the purposes of more readily explaining the precise nature of the Labouchere betting system, the following digits are to be used:

1 3 1 4 4 1 6 5

When the players are ready to commence their betting then they will add together the first and last number in the sequence of numbers. The number that is netted in this manner will then be used to dictate and determine the number of different betting units that the player will be able to use to bet with during the course of that round.

If the player gets a victory then they will remove the numbers used from their current list, and then continue down and throughout the chain. With regards to our current sequence of numbers this means that the sequence would go from 1 3 1 4 4 1 6 5 to 314416.

If the player loses then the procedure to follow is a little different, and so we take the first and last digits in the sequence, add them to together, and then add the total to the sequence. Therefore, in the current example where our chain of numbers was 13144165, the player who has lost will then 1 and 5 together (resulting in 6) and then inserting that to the list to give us  131441656.
