European Blackjack  - About The Game

This game is very popular with both amateurs and experts as it has some very generous rules. It’s a very popular game because it has such a high payback.

European Blackjack  - Introduction

The European Blackjack has many of the same elements as casinos which are played in many European casinos. There are also some additional extras which can make playing the game even more rewarding. These include the ability to split aces and continue playing them the same as other cards.

Playing European Blackjack

European blackjack is an exciting game where you need to try and bat the dealer. You need to use strategy to get a value of hand which is as close to 21 as possible. If you go over 21 then you will bust and lose the game.

You need to start by placing a bet. To do this, choose the denomination of chip that you want to place as a bet and click it. Once you have clicked on the denomination then click on the table to place these bets. You can click multiple times to increase the bet that you have staked.

Once you have finished placing the bet you can then click the deal button to begin playing the game. This will result in two cards being dealt to you, and another two to the dealer. You will only be able to see one of the dealer’s cards, with the other one being face down.

Playing a Hand

All of the picture cards in the deck are worth 10, aces can be 1 or 11, and the other cards are all the same value as the number printed on their face. The player can get blackjack if they manage to get 21 with just two of the cards, this can be accomplished by getting a card with a value of 10 and an Ace.

You have the option of placing an insurance bet if the dealer has an ace showing. This insurance bet, if accepted will be half of the value of the bet that you just placed. You then continue playing as normal. If the dealer has blackjack then you will receive a payout of 2:1. But if not then you lose the insurance bet and continue playing as normal.

If both of your cards that you are first dealt total 21 then you have blackjack. This means that you are almost certain to win, unless the dealer also has blackjack, in which case the game will be tied and bets will be returned. Blackjacks pay out 3:2.

If your hand is not a blackjack then you can continue improving your hand and increasing the value by clicking on the hit button. This will result in extra cards being dealt out to you. You can click hit until you reach 21, are bust, or decide to stop. Remember, the object is to get as close to 21 as possible without going over.

Once you have decided that you are as close to 21 as possible then you can click the stand button. This will then allow the dealer to play.

If you are dealt two cards which are the same value then you can decide to split them. Splitting them will create two new hands and place a new bet the same value as the original. If you get two cards which are equal to 21 when using a split hand then this will not count as a blackjack. When playing with European blackjack you can also re-split the hand once. To use this you can click the split again button.

When using spit aces there are no restrictions placed on it. It’s possible to treat the split aces as any other card.

Double Down can be used to double the original bet but will also mean that you can only receive a single card to be drawn down.

The values of the cards that are currently held in your hand are automatically calculated. Whenever you receive a new card the total will automatically be calculated. If your hand has an ace in it then the score is soft, the ace can be counted as either 1 or 11.

When your hand is compared against the dealers hand the ace will be the highest value possible without making your hand bust.

If you have managed to play your hand without going over 21 then the dealer gets the ability to play their hand.

Should the dealer hold a blackjack then the bet will be lost and the game will be ended. The only exception is when you also have a blackjack; in this case the original stake will be refunded to you.

If the dealer is holding 16 or under then the dealer must continue drawing cards until the value of the cards is higher than 17. If the dealers cards total over 21 then the dealer will be bust, this means that any of the hands you have in play will win. If you don’t bust then the value of the cards in the dealer’s hands will be compared to your hands. If it’s a tie then this will result in a push which means that the bet will be returned to you.

If you bust by going over 21 then the dealer will only be dealt one more card if he has an ace and you used an insurance bet.

Repeating Bets

If you want to continue playing with the same bet then you should click the re-bet and deal button. This allows you to bet the same amount again and continue playing with just one click. If you don’t have enough credits in your account then this option will not be available.

You can also click the re-bet button to place the same bets without instantly starting a game. You can then adjust the bet and click the deal button when you are ready to play.

The double bet button can be used to double the bet that you have placed. You can click on this as many times as you have credits available. If clicking on the double bet button would cause you to exceed the betting limits, or that you don’t have enough credits then this option will not be available

The double bet button can be clicked before you place a bet, this will double your last bet. You can then click the deal button to start play.

If you need to remove bets from the table you can do this by holding down shift and clicking on the chips on the table, or by clicking the clear button at the bottom of the window.

European Blackjack – Turbo

There is a turbo button in the player console which can be used to speed up game play. This is very useful as it makes it possible to cut out various animations from the game. The card dealing animation for example is not displayed which will make the game much quicker to play.

Rules for Players

Blackjack is when two cards are equal to 21.  Getting a blackjack will result in a payout of 3:2 of your original bet. If two cards in a split hand total 21 then this is not a blackjack.

Players can decide to use double down on two cards. It’s also possible to double down on split and re-split hands. When splitting aces, these are treated like any other card.

Players are entitled to draw up to 8 cards as long as they don’t exceed 21. If 8 cards are under 21 then this will beat anything except for if the dealer gets a blackjack.

Rules for the Dealer

The dealer must continue to draw cards if the total of their hand is under or equal to 16.

The dealer must stand if the value of their cards is 17 or higher. This includes if it is a soft 17 using an ace as an 11.

Players will be offered the option of taking out an insurance bet if the face up card of the dealer is an ace. Should the dealer have an ace then the player will receive 2:1, but if not the bet for insurance will be lost.

Should the dealer have blackjack then this beats everything except for player blackjack. In the event of a tie the bets will be returned.
