Playing Penny Bingo on a Budget
Just a few weeks ago I was talking to an avid online bingo fan who told me all about her online bingo play and how she has a fixed budget of just a pound a week. She only buys a couple of tickets for each game but manages to play real money bingo every night for an hour sticking rigidly to her budget. She’s even scooped a jackpot or two over the last decade playing online bingo once bagging just under £4000 at jackpotjoy.
So what’s Janet’s secret? Where does she play etc.? I asked her the following questions.
So your budget for online bingo each week is just £1, is that correct?
Yes that’s correct. I like to play for up to an hour each night before bed, although I ration out my £1 to last me the whole week so I play just a few games each night. Some nights I’ll just play a couple of games if I’m tired so it all depends on how I feel. I do play more games at the weekends as more of my friends are online and the prizes are bigger so I keep a running total of how much I’ve spent each night. Its kind of a running joke with my friends and family about my pound a week online bingo habit. One of my favourite bingo rooms is Penny Lane at Mecca Bingo. Unlike some bingo sites that only have 1p games at set times the 1p games at Mecca Penny Bingo run 24/7.
Where do you play?
I use to play at many different bingo sites but over the last few years many have closed down. Now I only play at 3 of the bigger bingo sites which are Gala Bingo, Mecca Bingo and Jackpotjoy. I prefer the bigger bingo sites as when I do win I win more than at the smaller sites. To be honest though I play for fun and chat with my friends on each of the sites. I’ve made some great friends at online bingo sites over the years.
Do you ever win?
Of course! Sometimes I can go for weeks without a win but I’ve had some amazing runs too. I play though for fun so when I win it’s just a bonus. I do though love the thrill of winning!
Have You Played More During the Lockdown?
I’ve been tempted but no I haven’t as I’ve stuck to my normal night-time routine to keep my sanity as the lockdown has been extremely tough for me as I’m on my own.
Do you have a strategy you’d like to share with our readers?
Firstly play for fun then when a win does come along you’ll really really enjoy it. If I do win during the week I’ll save my winnings until the weekend to play for the jackpots on either the Emerald or Sapphire Bingo at Jackpotjoy. These bingo games are a little more expensive and the price of games does vary, but I’ll only pay up to 25p per ticket but normally less although I only play these with my winnings. The jackpots can though run into thousands. I was lucky enough to win just under £4000 when I won the Emerald Bingo jackpot 6 years ago.
If though I win more than £20 I’ll always withdraw it and treat myself. Any win amount less than £20 I’ll use to play for the jackpots at Jackpotjoy.
